The Stiles Street Journal
Our house notebook. Smyth-sewn, 192 pages of 100gsm cream stock, cloth-wrapped spine.
$28For eleven years we've curated notebooks, writing instruments and desk essentials from small mills and independent workshops — then shipped them from our workshop on Stiles Street to studios, boardrooms and kitchen tables across the country.
Shop the Collections Our StoryWe are a small independent shop. That means we can read every review, answer every email, and personally check every notebook that leaves the shelves at 1086 Stiles Street.
Every product on our shelves has been ordered, unpacked and tested by our team — never drop-shipped from a warehouse we've never seen.
We favor lay-flat bindings, refillable pens and paper heavy enough to shrug off a fountain nib. If it wears out in a year, we don't stock it.
Our shelves lean on family mills in Massachusetts, a two-person bindery in Ohio, and a pencil maker who still uses California cedar.
No inflated "compare-at" prices, no fake countdowns. What you see on the tag is what our neighbors pay when they walk in the front door.
Rotating with the seasons. Full inventory lives in our collections room.

$89Allegheny Paper & Press began in 2014 as a Saturday-only shelf inside a friend's coffee bar. William Klock, a former print buyer, wanted to prove that thoughtful paper still had a place in the age of the notification.
The Stiles Street Journal is the first notebook I've actually filled cover to cover. The paper handles my fountain pen without a flinch.
I ordered the correspondence set for a wedding, and William personally wrapped it in kraft twine. That is not a chain-store experience.
Fast shipping, honest prices and the walnut tray looks like heirloom furniture on my desk. I'll be back.
